Vigil at greenwich Town Hall
Two cyclists have lost their lives on Greenwich roads in the last few weeks.
In response we want to encourage you to attend the peaceful vigil that has been organised in memory of the cyclists who have died.
The event takes place on Thursday 7 June starting at 6pm outside Greenwich town hall on Wellington Street in Woolwich town centre SE18 6PW.
We want people to come together to remember those who have died and to call on the authorities to take action to improve road safety for all in Greenwich.
Both of the cyclists died on the same road and both incidents involved lorries. This same road is the proposed route for the Cycle Superhighway 4 (CS4) and it is the main road between Greenwich and Woolwich used by many local cyclists on a daily basis.
The vigil has been organised by the campaign group ‘Stop Killing Cyclists’ and they have invited the Greenwich Cyclists group, as the local representatives of the London Cycling Campaign, to join in and support the event.
If you would like to get more involved in the Greenwich Cyclists group then please come to our AGM on Wednesday 4th July at Greenwich town hall starting at 7pm.
I hope to see you at the vigil and AGM.

New Cycle Lane for Navada Street
It’s been some years since the Council consulted on the idea for a contraflow cycle lane for Navada Street in central Greenwich but it is now reality.
The new route will allow those exiting Greenwich Park to turn left into Navada Street and give access to a safer and quieter route through to Creek Road.
The current route down King William Walk and onto the Greenwich one way system is particularly busy during the morning rush-hour so is best avoided if possible.
